Algebra Task 6 - T4 W6

Today bloggers we did some more stuff on Algebra!!!!!!. We had to use the rules in the boxes to find out the first 4 terms in the number sequence. As I did more and more questions it bacame harder. But this maths was not challenging at all since all of them are right!. On the right side is basically extension questions, the second question was to use the rule in the first question to find out the 12th term, 30th term and 65th term of the number sequence. To find that out the easiest way to answer it is to replace the letter n in the rule with the number term so for example, to find out the 12th term using 4n+9 I did 4x12(the number 12 is replaced with the letter n because it is the sequence term)+9= 57, and it was right. In conclusion I would really reccomend it to people who want to learn more stuff on Algebra. Until next time. Oh and quick note the letter n is just a letter used to replace numbers, they are also called variables. Blog Ya Later!

Algebra - T4

Today bloggers, we did some maths on algebra!!!. We had to find out a rule that could work with a set of numbers. For example 2t was our rule for the first question. oh and i forgot to mention that the letter t can also be a number. so 2x2=4, 2x3=6, 2x4=8 so on and so forth. The hardest question was probably the 3rd one. Cause it had a minus in it. But in the end from the help of my classmates and teacher I was able to do this. My next steps are to do more maths around this particular subject so that I can get more familliar with this kind of maths. In conclusion you should try and make yourself some algebra questions based on this, then solve it. Until next time..... Blog Ya Later!

Tradition of quilts - Levi

Today bloggers we were doing some reading stuff on fabric's. Each text was based on a type of fabric for example, Ngatu (Tongan art cloth), tivaevae (Cook island quilt) etc. What I found most challenging was probably the questions, but since most of the texts were similar the questions were easier. My next steps are to try and add more detail in my writing so that when im answering my questions it is more clear and able to understand. Thinker Keys - Levi

Today bloggers, we did our early bird task. Its called thinkers keys, all of this was based off of quilts. we only used 2 keys, the what if key and the reverse key. what are you supposed to do with the key's?. Well you have to make up what if questions about quilts for example, What if my quilt was able to fight? or What if my quilt was able to fly?. 

The second key that we used is called a reverse key. Now what is a reverse key you might ask?. A reverse key is to be used to list the things from your topic that couldnt be able to do, or would never happend. For example, My quilt cannot fly, fight or eat anything cause it is a blanket. That is how you use a reverse key and a what if key. 

It was really challengeing to make up the What if questions until the whole class started disccusing about the what if questions and how to make some. I think next time I should improve on doing more complex sentences using the thinker keys.

There are heaps of keys to use but for now we have only used 2 of the keys. In the future I think we will do more stuff on the thinkers keys. In conclusion I would reccomend you to try and use these keys to make a sentence. I hope you liked my blog post. Blog ya later!

Today i did Monday's question of the day and on the second slide is how i solved the question of the day. It wasnt hard at all but it wasnt easy as well. Niuean Greetings

Niuean Words - Levi

Yesterday we learnt some Niuean greetings like hello, thank you, goodbye etc. We also had to pick ten words to learn so i picked colours and one of the colours are lanu kula (red). It was very fun learning Niuean words. In Conclusion I would recommend leaarning the Niuean language cause it is very cool. That concludes my blog post about Niuean words. WALHT find the area of a shape that has more than one part DLO

Today for maths we had to make a DLO and explain how to find the aread of a shape that has more that one part. That is the WALHT for today. It was hard at first but then I got the job finished with 3 shapes stuck together. Its very easy to find the area of the three shapes. The first step is to split all the shapes. Then find out the area of all the shapes then add all the answers altogether Then thats your area for all of them. My next steps are to try and find out the area for 3D shapes. Today we got to choose a proverb and a picture about its meaning. But not just any other normal proverb. A Chinese proverb!. Today For Chinese language week we made a DLO of sayings like Ni hao, Wo jiao etc. We also did the english meaning for the words. I added a chinese flag at the back for the background. Today for maths we did a probability game called the greatest number. The aim of the game was to try and make the biggest number. I won the first game, with the highest number possible. Levi - Idiom Scavenger Hunt!

Today we did a idiom scavenger hunt. Whats a Idiom? you might ask, a idiom is a figure of speech, It has a saying and a meaning for example the teacher spilled the beans on the table meaning she literally spilled a can on beans on the table but the saying means like she spilled the beans as in she spilled the secrets. It was very challenging cause at first I didnt know what idioms were until our teacher explained to us what idioms are. The main purpose was to learn how to use idioms in our writing so it is better. Levi - A - Z Alphabet challenge 3

Today we did another A - Z challenge, the challenge was to find verbs that start with that letter. But it has to be in alphabetical order. I managed to finish it but i didnt have time to put more verbs into the boxes. It was very easy cause I searched up some verbs for like q, x or z. Today for the A - Z alphabet challenge 2, we had to find collective nouns for stuff like a flock of birds or a pride of lions. But we had to find out collective nouns in alphabetical order, it was very easy cause I looked for the answers on google and I almost finished it I had to do the last 4 letters of the alphabet to finish the A - Z challenge 2. We only do this if we come early on online classes. It was very fun and easy. My next steps are to try and get more work done so that it is finished in the time period we have. Levi - Scavanger Hunt 2

Today we did another Scavanger Hunt but it was different. It was a blog Scavanger Hunt!, we had to find stuff on blogs or find like where you can find blogs or making comments on blogs!. It was hard since we only had like 10 mins I only finished 4 out of the 16 tasks I just did the easiest tasks or the tasks that had the answer on my blog. It was very hard but fun at the same time. Levi - Probability 3

Today for maths we did a game called Highest Sum which is where you spin a wheel full of positive and negative numbers and you recored all 10 spins you did. After that you add the first 5 spins altogether then you record your last 5 spins then you add or minus if its a negative number to the number you had after the first 5 spins then thats the number you have. I got 28 as my score and my partner Gammado got - 9 for his score cause he got heaps of minus numbers when he spinned the wheel ten times. That concludes my maths for today. Levi - Probability 2

Today for maths we had to roll a dice and then we recorded the 18 rolls onto a tally chart on google slides. Up the top shows how theoretical probability and experimental probability is way more different then you seem. Theoretically each time I had to roll the dice 18 times each side of the dice wouldve landed on it 3/18 rolls. But when we did an experment it was way more diffrent like the number 5 was rolled the most with 5/18 rolls. That concludes my maths for today. I hope you like my blog post. Blog Ya Later!

Fitness Challenge - Levi

 

Yesterday I went for a 10km walk with my family to get out of our comfort zone and to keep our bodies active. It was very fun. My Next steps are to walk 10km everyday. Chapter Book Challenge Set 1 - Levi

Today I had to make a blog post about this chapter on a book called "ban this book" its a very strange name but it has a very good story just from reading 1 chapter of the book its so detailed and its intresting especially the part when the main character finds out that her favourite book has been banned from the library. PMI - Levi

Today I was just going to blog this since I finished it yesterday its about this story about a boy named Anaru who goes to buy new shoes that would be good for basketball since he liked playing that sport. Even though he got it when he went home to try it on it was a perfect fit! but after like 5 days or so they ripped!. He was sad but then he thought he could get it repaired etc. And in the end we as a class (room 9) decided to make a PMI chart on the decisions he made and some that were intresting. Probability - Levi

I am learning about probability and how it works. The task was to flip a coin 20 times and which ever one it landed on we recoreded the data in the google slide up the top. I was very successful cause me and my partner Gammado got to choose which one they would want to record and I chose tails and he chose heads. I won with 12/20 flips and he had 8/20 flips being heads. Chapter Book Challenge 1 - Reading

Olympics - Levi

Here is a presentation of the Olympics this slideshow shows the mascots for both the Olympics and the Paralympics and the ioc and some facts about a NZ athlete. This term we were learning about the Olympics since the Olympics has already started. I have been very successful about learning about the Olympics my next step are to probably learn stuff about the winter Olympics.

Spanish Words - Levi

This term we have started to learn Spanish for languages, since we tried to learn Japanese in term 1 we decided to try and learn another language and so majority of the class chose to learn Spanish. My Toolkit Experience - Levi

Today I went to Owairaka District School for the AkoHiko Tool kits 2021. We had a variety of choices to pick for tool kits. I chose tinker cad design, word art and mine craft coding. I think in my opinion that Minecraft coding was the hardest but it was the most fun. Word Art Toolkits - Levi

 

 

Today we learnt how to make word art. It was very fun and cool and the best thing about it was how you could customise the word you chose in heaps of ways. Like making the words placed diagonally and the words could be changed into different fonts. I liked it when mix pictures with the words and the words would be shaped into a picture you wanted it to be. This is my reflection on word art I hope you like my blog. Blog Ya Later

Levi's Rocket Design.

I chose this wing design because our teacher Mr Walkers said that curved wings are better than triangle wings so I decided to use curved wings for my rocket. I hope you like the design I made. blog ya later!

Let blow stuff up in the name of Maths - Levi

For our rocket launch today the rockets blasted off but did not go very far, as they spun around in random directions. The wind was very high. 

 The launch went really well, the rockets didn’t fail to launch and there were no issues with the equipment.  

What I noticed is that the rockets did not fly straight up. This could be due to the angle of the launcher not being perfectly straight. I also think that the wings played a role in how the rocket moved through the air. I think I could improve this by changing the wings and making sure they are more solid and aligned correctly. 

My next step are to work on my wing designs to make it is more stable and I want to also add a lid because this will hopefully help with Aerodynamics. I will probably use Youtube to do a bit of research on what makes a good rocket wing.

LO: Simple, Compound and Complex Sentences

 Today I was learning how to write, simple compound and complex sentences. I found that writing actually fun for once, especially since i don't writing. I found writing complex and compound sentences to be more tricky to write but com pound and complex sentences have more describing words than simple sentences. Levi - BEDMAS DLO

Today I was learning how to solve equations using BED MAS. I found this task to be very easy since I already knew how to solve it. I need to keep remembering that when there are brackets in a equation anything i between the brackets I need to solve first. my next steps are to learn how to solve algebra equations with multiplying in it.
